Hope you’ve survived Christmas!

If you’re neurodivergent, Christmas can be challenging.

Things like:

  • Flashing lights
  • Christmas music
  • Visiting people
  • Food
  • Opening presents
  • No alone time
  • People in your safe place

Any or all of the above can cause extra stress especially if you’re autistic.

I hope you’ve managed to take care of yourself and found some compromises in order to enjoy the day.

I made Lego with my grandson and did jigsaws with my granddaughter. Helped my daughter prepare a vegan meal for my son. Drive my husband home so he could drink some wine. Lots of fun and compromise, but it all worked out well.

I hope you all had the same success!

Happy holidays!

I appreciate your kindness and understanding of autism. My son is 22 years old and autistic- he is still coming to understand his own sensitivities. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 💖

It is difficult for others to understand what happens inside when you’re autistic. Compassion costs nothing so I hope more people can learn to make allowances just to make life a tiny bit easier for others.
Thank you for your kind comment.
